When you are done with your beanie, simply cut into  small pieces, add to your compost pile (put in pick-up compost bin) or bury in your flower bed or garden.  The pieces will help the soil maintain water and will biodegrade in about 1 year.   MSRP $55

The mesh drawstring cotton produce bags are washable, durable, foldable and reusable for grocery or storage.  They are 100% GOTS organic cotton; BSCI social compliant and free from any synthetic plastic-based materials such as polyester or nylon.  Three sizes to utilize on your grocery trips, for packing when traveling, as storage, or as gift wrap (think Furoshiki) for holidays.

These bags came in a recyclable kraft paper sleeve which we responsibly recycled during the box packing process.

The Nature Academy - Notebook

This notebook conserves forests, promotes biodiversity, supports recycling and causes zero deforestation.  Sugarcane accounts for 80% of sugar production in the world.  After extracting the juice out of sugarcane, bagasse are the by-products.  Bagasse paper products exceed environmental parameters set forth by Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Sustainable Forest Initiative (SFI), and other prominent forest management organizations.  Before people realized that sugarcane bagasse is a precious renewable resource, it was just a bio-waste, but nowadays, bagasse is regarded as a valuable, renewable resource.

This Earth-Friendly notebook is 8.25" x 5.75" with 80 sheets of paper and twin-wire binding.  The books are lined and use heavy-weight 20# paper made from Sugarcane.  The sugarcane plant grows extremely fast, three harvests a year compared to tree paper that can take 10 years.   Also, unlike tree paper heavy gas guzzling machines are not needed to chop and grind up this plant.  This sugarcane notebook is 100% recyclable and you can also compost the pages (not the binding) and they will biodegrade in 30 to 90 days.

Handmade Seed Embedded Paper

The paper used to display the QR Code is handmade in Nepal by rural craftspeople in an environmentally friendly process with 50% recycled content.  The raw material in this paper is the  Daphne bush. It is farmed and harvested from 3-4 year old plants that are cut and stripped of bark.

The plant is not destroyed when cut down and it regenerates from the root.  The cane like stick, once the bark is removed, is dried and used to heat the villager's homes, as fuel for cooking and in the production of this paper.  All water used in the paper production is reclaimed and reused.  The bark is beaten by hand, boiled into pulp, mixed with recycled pulp & paper scrap collected from the card and envelope manufacturing process) then pored into screens to form sheets.  The sheets are then dried in the sun. The entire process is earth friendly and provides a community with a healthy enterprise.

You can choose to recycle this paper, compost it, or even plant it and watch flowers bloom. Each sheet is embedded with seeds that will grow in North America.  Seeds in the paper include 10 annual and perennial species which tolerate partial shade, need 4 hours a day of direct sunlight, and grow to about 3 feet.  Seeds include Snapdragon, Petunia, Beardtounge, Daisy, Thyme, Poppy, Foxglove, Catchfly, Maiden Pinks, Chamomile.  If you plant this paper in a pot or in your garden please cover with 1/8" of soil to keep it moist until established; as germinating seeds and seedlings cannot survive even a brief drought.

Eco Enclose Tissue Paper

Eco Enclose tissue is recycled, recyclable and naturally biodegradable.  This tissue paper is 100% recycled and FSC certified using 20% post-consumer waste.  It is first and foremost reusable, so please reuse for wrapping or personal storage.  Specifically Note: it is Neutral Ph-anti-tarnish and safe for silverware, jewelry, and photographs.  Recyclable, naturally biodegradable, compostable & made in the USA.

Kraft Paper

Apart from its superior strength and protection, Kraft paper is 100% eco-friendly.  Kraft paper is manufactured from virgin wood pulp, making it organic.  And kraft paper can be recycled up to seven times.  It degrades naturally within a few weeks, decomposing just like leaves that fall off a tree.  It leaves no impact on the environment. 

We reuse the kraft packaging that comes in the boxes from our suppliers.  Since we select eco-conscious brands, they rarely use extra packaging unless necessary (think protecting reusable candle jars during shipping). 
We recommend that you reuse the kraft paper for your shipping or wrapping needs or simply drop in your recycle bin, burn in your fireplace or outdoor firepit, or use in your planting with your other compostables.

Save the Rock Box logo stickers are 100% compostable film making them very environmentally friendly; they will compost within 12 weeks! 

These stickers are Waterproof (not dishwasher safe) and UV Resistant. The stickers are made from wood-pulp from sustainably managed plantations.  The shipping labels used on the boxes have a zero waste, 100% recycled & curbside recyclable liner with 100% recyclable label. Just one more piece of this zero waste box.
